Woven Velvet From the Middle Atlas

Some textiles demand to be touched. Mrirt rugs are among them. Often called the “velvet of Morocco,” their indulgent softness turns the simple act of walking into something quietly decadent.

Hand-knotted by our collective of women master weavers in the Middle Atlas, each rug is made from ultra-fine lambswool with a density that gives it that unmistakable drape and weight—heavy, silky, and deeply inviting.

At InBazar Design, we pair centuries-old Berber techniques with our own abstract design language. The result bridges tradition and contemporary art: a textile that could live as comfortably beneath a sculptural sofa as it could hung on a gallery wall.

What Sets It Apart

• The Weave: The signature Mrirt knot—dense, precise, and responsible for that velvet-soft finish.

• The Material: 100% organic Moroccan wool dyed with natural pigments—healthy for your space and gentle on the earth.
